I toyed around with the XV-2020 some more and put together another remake of a song that used to be on the site, along with Shadow of Goliath. Let's see what was in the original description for this one:

The title music from the third Smiley RPG game. Sorta a new version of my beef stew style, being an electric drum beat with some nice orchestral instruments.

Well, that's mostly right, except I actually took out most of the orchestral stuff. This version is more like "fun with synthesized ostinatos". Enjoy.

I spent most of today working with my new Roland XV-2020. For an exercise, I took one of my old Impulse Tracker mods and transcribed it into MIDI, using the XV-2020 for the sound. I still have some things to learn, so this rendition is still a bit rough around the edges, but damn, does it feel good to get working on this stuff.

The original version of this song was on Clone Army way back when I had The Ultimate Belt. Let's see what the description had to say.

This is the introduction music to a game idea I had a bit back called Insurgentium. It was partially inspired by Dragonball Z. I think that should be enough info for you to draw your own conclusions.

Well, I think that about covers it. Also, for the first time, I've noticed how bad things sound when encoded at 128 kbps! So this MP3's at 256 kbps. I should look into variable bitrate encoding.

When I briefly borrowed a Roland JV-30 synthesizer a few years ago, I whipped up a quick arrangement using the sounds on it. They're not very impressive, but that's not the point. The point is that, hey, it's Eye of the Tiger, but orchestrally. It's fun. Original song by Survivor. Enjoy.

Same idea as Rdwhatever, but it's a boss piece. Excessively simplistic on purpose. I think I wrote it in my head while waiting at a bus stop. As for right now, I'm just experimenting with the samples on the Alesis Quadrasynth I've had for a while but never really used for anything besides plain old playing. Enjoy.

A year or two ago, Victor, one of my friends, was putting together an RPG. I wrote a few tunes for it. I think the project died. Anyways, here's one of the generic and short pieces I wrote for it. The name comes from the original MIDI file. RD stands for "random dungeon", and "whatever" is exactly what it looks like. Enjoy.

Seeing as this is my first music entry, I guess I should give the standard intro.

I've been composing as a hobby since eighth grade, although I've taken a fair share of extensive hiatuses from it since then. I started off writing music for my Megazeux games based on my interests in games and game music. And, well, I'm pretty much still there. Except I also like selected Broadway musicals. And some other scattered stuff.

Well, this is actually my newest piece that I've gone to the trouble of mixing and arranging on the computer. I wrote this piece for my composition class final project in the fall 2003 term. It's a collection of themes I wrote for the second installment of the original Lanelius Saga game concept, devised by my friend Dan with a little input from myself.
